The Division broke out of the Pusan Perimeter and joined with 7th Infantry Division and 1st Marine Division forces that had conducted the Inchon landing. . Through the rest of the war and after the Chinese intervention the Tropic Lightning Division earned innumerable credits at place such as the Han and Imjin Rivers, Ch’orwan, Kumhwa, Mundung-ni/Hwach'on Reservoir.
